Waving Hands©
by Tim Singleton 1

Each Sunday morning I get to see a very unique ministry. It is not from the pulpit nor a Sunday School classroom. It is not parking ushers or sound people. This wonderful mission work does not even occur at my own church.

This ministry is done with the heart of just one person. You see. Each Sunday I drive pass a church and out front of the church on the street is an older man that stands at the entrance of the church. He simply smiles and waves at everybody that passes by. Never meet the man but I can tell by his waves that His heart is in the right place.

Many people pass by him each Sunday. Most will never enter the doors of that church or sit upon one of their pews but there is not a car that passes that this man doesn't bless with the extension of his love. A simple wave maybe the best invitation to fellowship that one can give.

As I ponder the force behind that wave, I am reminded that his wave knows no color or denomination. His wave simply tells all that pass by that this man is reaching out to the community. I happen to love what he is doing and each Sunday morning I look forward to waving to him.

Don't know his name but his commitment has blessed this servant. It maybe only a simple wave maybe but I tell you that the movement of his arms are as powerful as Moses when the Red Sea was parted. It is far easier to part a sea than it is to bring a cold heart into the warmth of God's fellowship.

Each Sunday I see a miracle in the form of waving hands. Thank you my friend that I have never met and I encourage to continue raising your hands as a blessing from God.

I really can't think of one single reason that any church should not have some warm bodies waving God's grace to those that pass by each morning. Who knows one of those that drive by may just figure that there is a place inside your church for them. I can tell you that there is always room at the cross for more!

Wave to someone today and bless them along the way!

Tim
